Design students' photos part of Iowa Humanities Festival exhibition

(image) AMES, Iowa — Three Iowa State University College of Design students' photos are among 25 entries selected in the Elusive Prairie Photography Contest for display as part of the 2015 Iowa Humanities Festival April 10-11 in Des Moines.
Photos include "Prairie on a Glacial Moraine" by Tara Bounds, graduate student in landscape architecture from Madrid; "Echo" by Riley Eveleth, senior in integrated studio arts from Monroe; and "Winter Hues" by Meredith Ver Steeg, senior in landscape architecture from Des Moines.
Bounds' entry is one of the top 10 photos that will be exhibited during the festival's opening reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 10, at the Pappajohn Higher Education Center, 1200 Grand Ave.
The festival will include a presentation by James Pritchard, ISU adjunct assistant professor of landscape architecture and natural resource ecology and management. Pritchard will present "Sweet Memories: Heritage and Botanical Legacy in Iowa's Prairie Cemeteries" from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in the Common Room at the Salisbury House, 4025 Tonawanda Dr.
