Research Interests: My research interest lies in sustainable development especially the preservation of green spaces, exploring how parks can be preserved and dealing with the concept of green gentrification.

Sandra Niine Narh is a community and regional planning graduate student with a bachelor’s degree in Human Settlement Planning from The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. As an undergraduate student, Sandra explored the situation of sustainable development through the preservation of green spaces, especially parks in Kumasi, Ghana. She explored how the importance in preserving parks has dwindled over the years and proposed solutions to dealing with the issue. After her undergraduate studies, she served in the capacity as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Planning, KNUST and in 2021 began her graduate school journey at Iowa State University. Her interest has always been in sustainable development and her study in the US provides her with an international perspective on sustainability and relevant case studies to learn from.
