Reconnecting  the Boston Harborwalk, the Museum of Boston revitalizes the 108 year-old Northern Avenue steel bridge, housing significant elements of Boston’s history within a historic site itself. Circulation plays a key role in the Museum’s design, showcasing a heightened experience of the Boston Harborwalk through the old existing bridge and atop the Museum’s new bridge connection. Running parallel to the museum’s primary interior circulation, pedestrians can glance into the museum’s main exhibition rooms, as visitors inside the museum experience the city of Boston’s history through sequential exhibit spaces. Preservation spaces, classrooms, temporary installation rooms and a large group gathering hall supplement the Museum of Boston experience, overlooking Boston’s expansive harbor
