Student team participates in healthcare design charrette and conference

An interdisciplinary team of Iowa State University College of Design students under the guidance of faculty members Cameron Campell, associate professor of architecture, and Jihyn Song, associate professor of interior design, participated in the 2016 AIA-AAH STERIS Student Design Charrette on “Transportation Health: Bridging the Gap Between Urban Health and the Texas Medical Center” Nov. 11-12 and presented their work from the charrette at the Healthcare Design Expo and Conference Nov. 12-15, both in Houston, Texas.

The team included Yutao Hu, senior in architecture; Catherine McClurg and Richelle Reding, seniors in interior design; Andrew Meyer, graduate student in architecture and urban design; and Krithika Mohan, senior in landscape architecture. They were challenged to create a clinic in the massive healthcare campus in Houston that related to mass transit. Iowa State was the only university outside of Texas that was invited to participate.
