ID Student Places in Sherwin-Williams Color Competition
Hannah Halvorson, an interior design student in ArtID 569B Advanced Color Class, taught by Dr. Julie Irish in Spring 2020, is runner up in the commercial category of the Sherwin-Williams Student Design Competition. One of the images for her restaurant design, Fresh & Fauves, is shown above. Another student, Tilessa Leiting, was short-listed as a fan favorite in the residential category for her children’s nursery design.
Course professor, Dr. Julie Irish was recently awarded a Leibrock Universal Design Scholarship by the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC). The award will allow Dr. Irish to attend a workshop in the summer of 2021 with Cynthia Leibrock, a renowned expert in Universal Design and aging in place. Leibrock’s home in Livermore, Colorado, has been specially adapted for aging in place. Following on from the workshop, Leibrock, will visit ISU to guest lecture in the Interior Design Department.
