Iowa State’s College of Design is one of the most comprehensive design institutions in the US, offering ten undergraduate majors:
- Architecture (BArch)
- Art & Design (BA)
- Biological / Pre-Medical Illustration (BA) offered jointly with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
- Community & Regional Planning (BS)
- Graphic Design (BFA)
- Industrial Design (BID)
- Integrated Studio Arts (BFA)
- Interdisciplinary Design (BDes) – second major only
- Interior Design (BFA)
- Landscape Architecture (BLA)
Iowa State University also offers a fashion major, Apparel, Merchandising and Design, through the College of Human Sciences, that works well as a second major with our programs.

All undergraduate students (except those interested in Community and Regional Planning or Biological & Pre-Medical Illustration) entering the College of Design enroll in the Core Design Program, a first-year foundation curriculum preparing you for application to any of the professional degree programs.
