We’ve found that when you surround yourself with innovation, you’ll be even more innovative. That’s why Start Something offers experiences and opportunities centered on creative thinking — and doing. Here are just a few of the ways you can immerse yourself in innovation in the College of Design:

• Option Studios – Every spring, you get the opportunity to learn from world-class design faculty as members from seven departments teach advanced studies with a focus on U.N. sustainable development goals. From sustainable design projects in Uganda to manufacturing affordability — no innovative topic is left untouched.
• Design Charrettes – These departmental transdisciplinary design sprints are where you come together with your team to figure out a solution to a design problem, like how to best utilize space for collaborative learning rooms and more. It’s innovation at work.
• Core Design Program – With this set of studio and lecture classes, you’ll be prepared to enter any of our degree programs. By providing a shared language, experience and community, your future starts here.
• Wearables Design Show – Featuring the latest in innovative materials and fabrication designs, this show is brought to life by design students and offers you a wide array of ways to get involved.
