UN Sustainable Development Goals
As the field of international education grows, there has been an increasing commitment to incorporating sustainable practices and principles alongside global exploration and pursuits. It is critical to also closely examining the impact of travel and study on local environments and communities. The United Nations (UN), describes the Sustainable Development Goals as “the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.” The 17 interconnected goals address many global challenges, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The UN has called for all goals to be achieved by 2030.
With our strategic and coordinated approach to global engagement with emphasis on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, our objectives are to become more intentional and more effective in our international endeavors. This in return will increase meaningful opportunities for students, faculty and staff.
