Culture & Diversity
Diverse Community
The College of Design is a diverse, vibrant, and eclectic community that strives for inclusive excellence. This community values innovation, curiosity, collaboration, open exchange of ideas, diverse perspectives, and environmental and social responsibility.
In concert with Iowa State University’s 2017-22 Strategic Plan, one of the college’s top goals is to promote a collegiate culture that nurtures the success and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. Toward that end, the college actively seeks to create a safe and welcoming environment for all faculty, staff, and students. Bullying, assaulting, harassing, and isolating people because of their identity, beliefs, appearance, field of study, etc. are unacceptable and contrary to the college’s values and goals.
We are a community that embraces difference and thrives on the rich tapestry of diverse identities. Be empowered and empower others to create effectual change in the world by embracing, not denigrating difference.
