Degrees

Art & Design (BA)

This non-studio-based degree program explores academic paths in art and design and is ideal for students interested in double majoring. Students interested in the BA in Art & Design first complete the Core Design Program, then declare a major in Art & Design. This degree program is not enrollment managed.

Curriculum Options

The BA curriculum has two options:

Both options offer flexible curricula and the freedom to select courses outside the Art and Design major and require students to complement their art coursework with study in another area inside or outside of the College of Design. This can include a second major or minor, or an alternative program of study approved by your academic adviser.

Exciting second majors or minors to pair with the BA in Art & Design include journalism, advertising, business, history or psychology.

The two Art & Design curricula provide a solid liberal arts educational experience that can be a springboard into a wide array of graduate school and career opportunities, including:

  • Art criticism
  • Art history
  • Art sales
  • Corporate art collections
  • Gallery/museum studies
  • Art therapy
