Study Abroad
Semester in Rome
The College of Design Rome Program offers an optional course of study to fourth-year students in the Bachelor of Architecture program and to selected students in the Master of Architecture program in the spring semester each year. The Rome Program offers the opportunity to experience the physical and cultural settings of major works of art and design overseas. You’ll engage in design studios and seminars that emphasize the unique culture and environment of Italy and of Western Europe. You’ll also gain an understanding of the history and urban development of Rome and the cultural significance of many historic works of Italian architecture, while being exposed to the urban geography and culture of a major European capital within the context of its regional landscape and the Italian urban tradition.
Attend classes at the College of Design’s studio facilities in the historic center of Rome at the Palazzo Cenci-Bolognetti, a 16th-century building located in the Piazza delle Cinque Scole near the Tiber River.
