Courtney Long (BLA 2010 Landscape Architecture / MS 2012 Sustainable Agriculture), a research associate with the ISU Community Design Lab, received the Second Runner-Up for Outstanding Partnership Award in the 2016 Farm Credit MarketMaker Innovation Awards for the Agricultural Urbanism Toolkit program at Iowa State. Long leads a team that conducts food systems and health assessments for communities in Iowa. MarketMaker was the tool used to identify food-system gaps and assets around the state and identify opportunities for innovative projects that are complementary to existing agricultural enterprises. Long was recognized at the 18th annual National Value Added Agriculture Conference in Madison, Wis.
