Iowa State University
The College of Design Rome Program consists of two basic components: studio residency in Rome and field trip excursions to museums, buildings, ancient monuments and other historic and contemporary sites in and outside of the city.

The residency involves an extended stay in Rome of between two and four months (see below). Students will attend studio and lecture classes taught by ISU and visiting European faculty for ISU credit on a daily basis just like in Ames.

The studio residency is augmented by a field trip component. Students will participate in field trips to other significant Italian and/or European cities and regions, combined with day trips within both the center and the extended periphery of Rome itself.

Fall Semester (4-month residency)
In the fall, programs are offered to fourth-year students in graphic design third-year students in interior design. Students are required to take a minimum of 12 credit hours.
